[Biblemat] psuedo-collection

Dear Brethren,

I want some input from you on a practice that I have encountered. A congregation here in Florida is in the tradition of not passing a collection plate during Sunday morning worship. Instead, they have a box in the back in which one can put in their liberalities as they walk in or out the door. During worship service, after the Lord's Supper they say a prayer for the giving, but the giving doesn't actually take place during worship service. It takes place after dismissal. Not only that, It is also possible for one to give on Wednesday night that may have been absent on Sunday. I am in disagreement with this practice because; it takes the collection out of the worship service to God. This is the question I would like for you to answer: Do you feel that this is proper and authorized in the scriptures? If so, could you please explain why this acceptable? If not, please explain your position. I hope that all could take a little time and give us their points on this matter. Thank you brethren! Hope all have very happy holidays.
