Don Martin with a question/answer:
We have officially resumed our Bible Questions work, having had a
holiday respite. Below, you will find question/answer number 2, 500
since July 12 of 2006:
Hello Mary,
Thank you so much for your question and for making use of Bible Questions.
Please do so again. http://www.biblequestions.org Please check out Bible
Truths http://www.bibletruths.net Go to the archives section of these sites
for material and also go to the archives search page and type in any subject
or word you wish to explore. New material is constantly being added to both
sites. Any help you can give us in telling others of these sites will be
greatly appreciated.

You asked:
Where did Paul teach that when he sought to do good, evil seemed to always
get in the way? Please explain the statement. Also, can you comment on the
New World Order?
Reply:
The text containing Paul's statement for which you search is Romans 7:
15-21. Calvinists use or, rather, misuse Paul's statement to teach total
depravity. However, on other occasions Paul taught self-mastery and
overcoming the flesh (cp. I Cor. 9: 24f.). When we examine the context of
Paul's statement, I believe it is evident that Paul made his statement with
two things foremostly in mind: The conflicting desires of the flesh and the
fact that the Law of Moses when compared to Jesus' anticipated system and
provision was not able to effect the desired control. Thus, Paul is writing
as a Jew, struggling under the comparative limited benefits of the law
without Christ. I shall insert the text below.
You are to be commended for even being away of the efforts to install a New
World Order. There are two sources at work attempting to put in place such
a New World Order, the political and religious. I suggest you read, "The
New World Order" located in www.bibletruths.net When on the home page,
enter through the door and click on "Archives and Index" in the directory.
When on the Archives page, click on the letter "W." Here is an excerpt:
"...One source of hope, both secularly and religiously is the 'New
World Order' about which we have been hearing for some time. The New World
Order purports to offer something better and enduring.
'The term 'new world order' has been used to refer to a new period of
history evidencing a dramatic change in world political thought and the
balance of power. The first usages of the term surrounded Woodrow Wilson's
Fourteen Points and call for a League of Nations following the devastation
of World War I. The phrase was used sparingly at the end of the Second World
War when describing the plans for the United Nations and Bretton Woods
system, in part because of the negative association the phrase would bring
to the failed League of Nations. In retrospect however, many commentators
have applied the term retroactively to the order put in place by the WWII
victors as a 'new world order.' The most recent, and most widely discussed,
application of the phrase came at the end of the Cold War. Presidents
Mikhail Gorbachev and George H.W. Bush used the term to try and define the
nature of the post Cold War era, and the spirit of great power cooperation
that they hoped might materialize...'" (Wikipedia Encyclopedia).
"15: For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but
what I hate, that do I. 16: If then I do that which I would not, I consent
unto the law that it is good. 17: Now then it is no more I that do it, but
sin that dwelleth in me.18: For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,)
dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform
that which is good I find not. 19: For the good that I would I do not: but
the evil which I would not, that I do. 20: Now if I do that I would not,
it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21: I find then a
law,
that, when I would do good, evil is present with me" (Rom. 7).

matters. I recommend that you print out this email for future reference (web
addresses, etc.). You may print out any material you desire in both Bible
Questions and Bible Truths (see the copyright provision at the bottom of the
