Here is an article that recently came my way:

GOD HAS SPOKEN

     The role of wives, given by God in the marriage relation-
ship, which He ordained, is rejected by those who do not be-
lieve in God and who reject the Bible as the divinely given
message of God to man.  Even many religious people show 
their real unbelief by ignoring and refusing to abide in God's
instruction.

     Now hear the Word of the Lord:  "Wives, submit to your
own husbands, as to the Lord..." (Eph. 5:22).  "Therefore, just
as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their
own husbands in everything" (Eph. 5:24).  Older women are
charged to "admonish the young women to love their husban-
ds, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers
good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God
man not be blasphemed" (Ti. 2:3-5).  "Likewise you wives, be
submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not
obey the Word, they, without a word, may be won by the con-
duct of their wives, when they observe your chaste conduct
accompanied by fear..." (1 Pet. 3:1,2).  They should wear "the
incorruptible ornament of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is
very precious in the sight of God" (1 Pet. 3:3,4).  Holy women
of former times adorned themselves thus, "being submissive
to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him
lord," the key to this conduct being that they trusted in God
(1 Pet. 3:5,6).

     If this instruction seems outdated to you and no longer in
effect, your reaction to it should be a sobering disclosure of
how far you have become removed from the authority of God
and belief in the Bible.  If young women were to hire themsel-
ves to an employer, planning to ignore his instructions, we
would call them naive and foolish; but people call young wom-
en who get married with no intention of obeying their husban-
ds courageous and liberated.  If a woman does not want to
submit to a husband, then she should not enter marriage, for
she will be living in rebellion against God as long as she refus-
es to submit and be obedient to her own husband.  Young
women who profess to be believers in God should think sob-
