Brethren and Friends, Jim Sasser here. A very good Tuesday
morning to each and everyone. May God bless you and yours.
Here is an article from my recent files:

HOW TO BE FREE

Mankind longs to be free. For a lot of people that means
they desire to be able to do whatever they want. However for
many, its pursuit actually leads to greater oppression.

A bird is free in the air but put that bird in the water and
it has lost its freedom. A fish is free in the water but leave it
on the shore and it will die. The Christian is free when he does the Will of
God and is obedient to God's commands.
This is as natural a realm for a child of God as the water is
for the fish and the air for the bird.

Although Solomon didn't use the word freedom in Prov. 16, he understood
that it comes only within the bounds of
honoring God and His Word. In contrast, bondage comes to
those who ignore God's Truth.

Liberty results from practicing humility, trusting in the Lord, being
careful with our speech, and having self-control
(vss. 19-24).

Bondage enslaves those who are governed by rebellion,
pride, arrogance, strife, slander, violence and evil doing (vss.
18,27-30).

Do you want to be free? Jesus said, "If you abide in My
Word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the
Truth and the Truth shall make you free" (Jno. 8:31,32). Jesus is the
ultimate source of true freedom.

True freedom lies not in having your own way but in yield-
ing to God's Way. -------- Shane Williams in The Lilbourn
Light, Vol. 7, No. 8, Dec. 2006. (We are told in (Jas. 1:25), "But he who
looks into the perfect law of liberty and contin-
ues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work,
this one will be blessed in what he does" NKJV, JWS).
